Pedal power for a sustainable future

Our employee-led cycling initiative unites over 1,000 employees and stakeholders from across Europe.

Building off our purpose of Breaking New Ground, CNH led a cycling program called Biking New Ground. Employees, customers, and dealers were all invited to take part.

This fantastic effort harnessed the power of cycling to promote a healthy lifestyle, sustainable mobility and inclusivity.

This edition was divided into two phases.

The first phase was the Giro-E (May 6 - 28), an amateur cycling contest, conducted concurrently with the renowned Giro d'Italia cycling competition. This competition retraces the stages of the Giro d’Italia, exclusively using E-Bikes (Electric bikes).

We participated in the Giro-E, fielding our own team led by Violette Neza, one of road cycling’s rising stars. A native of Rwanda, Neza is an esteemed member of 'Team Africa Rising', a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the growth of cycling across Africa.

The team, comprising 100 participants from a diverse background of dealers, customers, and employees, successfully navigated the 20 stages of the 1,150km route, stretching from Italy’s Abruzzo region to the Dolomites.

The second phase was dedicated to European Mobility Week (16 - 22 September). This phase included employees from the CNH communities in Austria, Belgium, and Italy, who were invited to cycle to work. Staff were also encouraged to swap car journeys for pedal power when going about other daily activities such as shopping or visiting the park.

Paola Gianotti – CNH’s ambassador for the initiative – helped to motivate over 1,000 employees throughout the week-long event. It involved 11 of our plants across three countries. They were all united by a shared enthusiasm for cycling and sustainable mobility as they became One Team during the initiative.
