RACINE, Wis. – Sept. 27, 2007 - CNH Case New Holland executives raised the target at the 2007 United Way of Racine County fundraising campaign. Chief Executive Officer Harold Boyanovsky set the company's goal at 100% participation and $1 million from employee and company contributions and supplier and vendor sponsorships. In last year's campaign, the agricultural and construction equipment manufacturer raised nearly $790,000.
"The United Way brings the people in our community together, establishes a common purpose, and makes good things happen for thousands of children, families, adults and seniors in our community," Boyanovsky said today at the kickoff for the 2007 campaign held at the Racine County Food Bank. "CNH, a vital part of this community, will continue to help build a stronger and safer community through our support of the United Way."
Steve Bierman, President of CNH Capital and chairman of this year's CNH United Way campaign, cited examples of local impact by United Way. He mentioned the Food Bank, formed in 1983, that distributes more than 330,000 pounds of food each year to pantries, emergency shelters, community meal sites and social service agencies.
Other family services include agencies like the Children's Service Society of Southeastern Wisconsin and The Child and Family Therapy Program, which offers therapy and counseling services to parents and their children. In addition, many CNH employees and their families benefit from United Way programs through organizations such as Girl Scouts, YMCA, YWCA and Racine Youth Sports, among others.
CNH executives joined Dave Mauer, executive director of the United Way of Racine County, and Gary Becker, Racine mayor, for the kickoff of the 2007 campaign. United Way of Racine County's 2006 campaign was a big success, surpassing the $5 million mark for the first time in its 85-year-history.
