TOMAHAWK, Wis., - (June 20, 2008) - Case Construction Equipment today broke ground for a new Product Review Center at the Case Customer Center in Tomahawk, Wis. Construction is scheduled to continue through the summer, with completion slated for November.

The new building will provide climate-controlled viewing to the product demonstration area where guests can see the full line of Case construction equipment in operation, from skid steers to 87-ton excavators. When completed, the 3,000-square-foot building will accommodate up to 100 people.

Multi-media capabilities enhance product demonstrations
According to Gerry Kole, Tomahawk's manager, the Product Review Center will be equipped with a state-of-the-art audio-visual system that lets Case operators running equipment communicate with the customers inside the building.

A helmet-mounted camera will also provide a big-screen display from the operator's point of view. "Customers will see exactly what's taking place inside the cab," explained Kole. "This includes the instrument displays, how the machine is operated and even the positioning of the operator's hands as they perform different tasks." Kole said the technology will enhance equipment training, education and demonstrations.

The city's mayor, Bob Lee, was on hand for the groundbreaking, along with Jim Hasler, vice president of Case; Jim Van Strydonk, Van Strydonk Construction, LLC; and Kole. The four started excavation for the footings with three golden shovels and a Case CX210B excavator.

The Case Customer Center sits on more than 500 acres of land in Wisconsin's north woods. In addition to receiving product information and demonstrations, customers get hands-on operation time of more than 50 current models of Case construction equipment - an inventory in excess of $3 million.

The Tomahawk team also personalizes the experience for customers by tailoring activities to meet their needs. "If a road and bridge contractor wants to put our dozers, excavators or wheel loaders to the test, we can provide specific product demonstrations and let them operate Case equipment in settings that simulate their jobsite challenges," Kole said.

The Case facility is used year round and caters to Case customers and prospective customers. The Customer Center also hosts students and U.S. and foreign government officials considering the use of equipment. Annually, nearly 2,000 guests visit the facility.

"The Tomahawk Customer Center has been serving guests for more than 60 years and is an industry showcase," added Kole. "In addition to our beautiful lake-side setting, rustic cabins and home-style hospitality, customers get concrete information and a hands-on equipment experience that benefits their bottom line."

Equipment users interested in visiting the Case Tomahawk Customer Center should contact their local Case dealer.
